Emilia-Romagna is a region that has made the history of motor racing and motorcycling worldwide. Also known as the Motor Valley, this region is the proud home of the largest automobile and motorcycle companies on the planet, including Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Ducati<\/strong> and many others.\u00a0<\/p>

But it is not only the companies that have made the history of this land, they are also his legendary racetracks<\/strong> that have written over time indelible pages in the history of motorsport.<\/p>

The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli<\/h2>

We begin our journey on the Via Emilia from south to north with the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli<\/strong>, located in the picturesque town of Misano Adriatico, in the province of Rimini. This circuit is a real temple for lovers of two wheels<\/strong> and is dedicated to Marco Simoncelli<\/strong>, the talented MotoGP rider who died tragically in 2011.\u00a0<\/p>

The Riders Land, which is often called this region, has seen the birth over time of some of the most famous and talented motorcyclists, and it is here that the heart of motorsport beats faster.<\/p>

The Misano World Circuit hosts internationally renowned events such as the MotoGP Grand Prix of San Marino<\/strong>, Riviera di Rimini<\/strong> and the Superbike World Championship<\/strong>. This 4,226-metre-long track can seat up to 100,000 spectators, and is one of the places where motorbikes race at crazy speeds through breathtaking turns. But it\u2019s not just for motorcycles, even racing cars make their presence felt here, with events like the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup<\/strong> and the Grand Prix Truck<\/strong> dedicated to trucks.<\/p>

Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit<\/h2>

The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as the Imola Circuit<\/strong>, is a legendary racing track located in the city of Imola. Opened in 1953, this circuit encompasses a rich history and a reputation for excellence in the racing world.<\/p>

It became world famous thanks to the San Marino Formula 1 Grand Prix<\/strong>, hosted from 1981 to 2006,the circuit is considered one of the most technical and challenging of the Formula 1 calendar. Characterized by fast curves and elevation changes capable of challenging even the most talented drivers, since 2020 it hosts the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna.<\/strong><\/p>

The fastest lap on the track was set in 2020 by Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas during the qualifying of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, with a time of 1’13″609.<\/p>

In addition to the races, the Imola Circuit organizes several open days that allow fans to get closer to the world of racing, offering them the opportunity to admire the cars up close and take part in unique and engaging experiences. The track also offers a variety of ups and downs and curves capable of testing even the most experienced drivers.<\/p>

But it is not just a place for competitions and exercises. The Modena Circuit is actively involved in reducing environmental impact, collaborating with the Ministry of Environment and Land and Sea Protection for sustainability projects.\u00a0<\/p>

This facility is also open to the public for free rides by motorbike or car<\/strong>, as well as for track tests, allowing fans to experience the thrill of speed in a controlled and safe environment.<\/p>

The Riccardo Paletti Circuit<\/h2>

We end our tour to discover the racetracks of Emilia-Romagna with the Riccardo Paletti Circuit in Varano de’ Melegari<\/strong>, in the province of Parma. This 2,350 meter long circuit is famous for being the home of the International Safe Driving Centre<\/strong>, founded in 1991 by former Formula One driver Andrea de Adamich. The center organizes courses aimed at improving driving skills and car control, ensuring that drivers are ready for any challenge on the road.<\/p>

The Autodromo Riccardo Paletti also hosts races for cars, motorcycles and rallies. In addition, it offers the opportunity for speed fanatics to experience the track in free practice<\/strong>.
